The Application of Coupler Wrenches
Following the rebar rolling operation and the initial attachment of couplers to the starter bars, the next step involves connecting the upper rebar and securely tightening the joint. This tightening is performed using a coupler wrench. Part Less coupler wrenches are specifically designed for the easy and rapid tightening of couplers onto the threads. These wrenches are available in three sizes: small, medium, and large.
While conventional tools such as pipe wrenches can also be used to tighten the connection, employing a coupler wrench significantly increases operator speed. The jaw of the coupler wrench contacts the coupler and, with the aid of an internal spring, opens to various dimensions to engage the fitting. The angle of the teeth on the upper and lower jaws is such that, once engaged, secure tightening of the component is possible.
The design of these wrenches prioritizes ease of use in addition to strength and durability. The wrench weighs 2 kilograms and has a handle length of 50 centimeters. Furthermore, the plastic handle ensures comfortable operation for the worker.
Further Details:
Unlike pipe wrenches, which require both hands of the operator to tighten the fitting, using a coupler wrench allows the operator to perform the tightening with just one hand. This feature assists operators in situations where access to a connection is difficult and there is limited working space, making the tightening process easier with these specialized coupler wrenches.
