Frequently, structural elements require a change in rebar size, and transition couplers provide the ideal connection solution in these instances. Similar to standard (middle) couplers, transition couplers serve to join two rebars; however, their distinct purpose is to connect rebars with different diameter sizes.
As clearly illustrated in slides two and three, the internal diameter of the coupler varies along its length. The two ends of these couplers are machined to precisely match the desired rebar sizes, enabling the connection of two rebars with differing diameters. Naturally, the rebar with the smaller diameter is connected using the smaller end of the coupler, and the rebar with the larger diameter is connected via the larger end.
Transition couplers are manufactured and supplied to suit both rebar threading methods: rib peeling (P) and direct rolling (D). As visible in slide four, the code “3225D” on the coupler indicates that it is a transition coupler designed to connect a 32mm rebar to a 25mm rebar, produced using the direct threading (D) method.
Each of these transition couplers is distinctly marked with the standard logo, a unique product authenticity code, and our company brand, ‘Pertless’, ensuring easy identification
